This project is exploring the use of Twitter as the SMS transport and WordPress as the authoring tool. Sound interesting? Read on.
One of the greatest costs of implementing mobile learning is the cost of SMS. Text messages can be delivered via an SMS Gateway that charges per message, or by implementing a SMS Server. This project set out to test the feasibility of using Twitter to replace the SMS transport layer so that all costs associated with SMS could be avoided.

When you follow mLearnED the following happens.
- mLearning101.com will detect that you are now following mLearnED on Twitter.
- You will be sent a direct message from mLearning101.com via mLearnED that contains your welcome message and initial instruction on using the course.
- You follow the instructions and send keywords back to mLearning101.com via mLearnED on Twitter.
- mLearning101.com receives your direct messages from mLearnED on Twitter and sends your next activity.
- Steps 3 & 4 repeat until you complete the sample course you enrolled in by following mLearnED on Twitter.
